Thaw
Thaw is a filesharing utility and upload/download manager. It is used as a graphical interface for Freenet filesharing.
Starting Thaw
Thaw should be included in the Freenet installation by default. It should be found in the Freenet directory. To start it, write in a command prompt:
java -jar Thaw.jar
A progress bar should flicker by and after a short startup, the main window should appear.
Downloading files
To download files, press the Downloads-button mid-page. Then a window like below will appear:
One then has to paste freenet keys like the one above, into the main pane of the window. It is also necessary to choose a destination directory to save the files in.
After that, press the Fetch-button and wait for the files to download. Since Freenet is slow in the beginning, this might take a very long while. Please do not get discouraged by this.
